What are the Main Steps of a Feng Shui
Architectural Evaluation?
In the medical practice, a good diagnosis of a person’s symptoms
is fundamental, only then can the appropriate medicine be prescribed.
Similarly in Feng Shui, it is fundamental that an master make a
correct analysis, or evaluation, and only then can that he or she
use this science to properly take advantage of the life force energy
in order to maximize the health and happiness of the inhabitants
inside.
During the analysis, a Feng Shui master first observes
the landscape that surrounds the property, the 'Big Environment'.
To do this we observe the flow of Qi in the landscape and,
whether it is a beautiful garden or a hectic city, we find a way
to allow the building to receive the most beneficial energy; we
recommend various landscape design features that could serve to
eliminate disturbances from inauspicious sources.
Secondly, the interior, the “Small
Environment”, is analyzed to ensure that there is
a proper flow of Qi in every room of the house, and to
avoid stagnation and depletion. This process is similar to the regulation
of the Qi flow in the body during an acupuncture session,
except that in this case needles are not necessary. At this stage,
the furniture layout is important and we can recommend appropriate
design features that can help you achieve the full benefits of Feng
Shui.
The third phase is the most critical. The Qi
components are analyzed in detail. In the same way that white light
passing through a prism is divided into the electromagnetic spectrum's
colors, the flow of Qi is divided into branches of energy
that vibrate at different frequencies. These frequencies are analyzed
and this process shows whether a site's energetic field is balanced
or unbalanced. A geomancer compass is used to find the magnetic
pole, and this establishes the building's orientation
and combines this information with others derived by knowing the
date of construction of the building.
We then advise you with respect to which natural material objects
and colors that correspond to any missing energy frequency we have
detected can be introduced in order to recreate the harmony. To
ensure total balance, this analysis is applied to every room of
the house.
The fourth phase deals with the compatibility of
the building with its inhabitants. We pay more detailed attention
to space and color, as well as bed and desk orientation, favoring
the options that are most beneficial to the inhabitants.
For an existing building the results of such an evaluation
will create detailed guidelines involving furniture layout and interior
design. And if you are in the process of constructing a new project
or remodeling, the detailed guidelines will focus on spatial planning,
design development advice and on site visits during construction.
Traditional Yang Sang Feng Shui includes all schools although a
common belief nowadays is that Feng Shui is divided into several
schools, the best-known being the Form School and Compass School.
Actually, when you observe the ‘Big’ and the ‘Small’
environment you are applying the teachings of the ‘Form’
School, and while studying the magnetic field you are in effect
applying the 'Compass' School formulae.
